Welcome to Australian Business Asia!
Australian Business Asia (ABA) is the name given to a group of 16 Australian Chambers of Commerce and Business Councils from accross the Asia region that represents Australian Business interests in their host countries.
ABA is the umbrella for its constituent groups to come together and provide a collective voice on critical advocacy issues involving Australian business across the region. It also provides and platform for joint activities, reciprocal arrangements and for exchange of information and ideas between the member groups.
As a body, we hope to continue to facilitate Australia's engagement with Asia through communicating on a pan regional basis to allow for a collective approach in advocacy, particularly back to the Australian Government. Areas where we believe we can add value include in-market advice regarding market trends and business opportunities, trade agreements such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and other bilateral agreements, and the promotion of initiatives that support Australian businesses in the region. With the ongoing dialog amongst the participating Chambers of Commerce and Business Councils, ABA continues to provide our members with greater regional connectivity.
This year, the Australian and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Japan is hosting the ABA Sectretariat. As such, ANZCCJ Chair, Ms Melanie Brock, is the Chair of ABA. Please 'contact us' with any enquiries you might have regarding activities undertaken by the ABA.
